The Big Block's locking system allows you to build walls as tall as necessary and feel confident in their long term stability.

Big Block products are designed for both strength and durability, but should only be used as specified by a professional architect or engineer familiar with the capability of the block and the details of the specific project.
Lewis Block & Supply met personally with the manufacturer of Big Block, toured their plant and walked away extremely impressed with their operation.  The care taken with each of the pours  (whether it was their 42" block, 24" block or corner units) quickly demonstrated their commitment to quality.  Each mold is vigorously shaken to ensure that each block meets their exacting pressure standards.  Additionally, we discovered that the “Natural Limestone” face of each unit is truly representative of limestone rock.  The 6 variations of Big Block molds were designed by taking a block of actual limestone rock, cutting the "face" off and using that model as their concrete mold.  So when Big Block is spec’ed you are truly getting a natural product without that cookie cutter look that you get with other block manufacturers.

The block has a rounded locking system that allows for smoother curves, a tighter fit and a ½" setback for each course.  There was quite an assortment of coloring options including concrete dye and acid stained façades in addition to the natural stone.  For taller walls, using Big Block in conjunction with Geogrid is a snap.

We later observed a Big Block wall being constructed at Prescott Plaza near 18th Street & I-70 in Kansas City, KS and was amazed at how quickly it goes up. Big Block states in their product brochure that approximately 1,500 square feet of wall can be installed in an 8 hour day and after a couple of hours of witnessing a "live" installation, we are believers.
